Moon Phases

It is the gravitational force of the moon that creates the oceanic tides of our water planet. Saltwater anglers have long known that the feeding habits of most sport fish (especially back country and flats fish) are affected by the twice daily movement of tidal flows. Other factors come into play as well, including the bright illuminated nights of a full moon phase and conversely, the dark nights of a new moon phase. As important as all this is, we decided to include a section on Phases of the Moon in our Web Site.

The pages of this section include a Current Moon Phase clock that gives you the exact specifics of the current moon phase including percent of fullness. There is also a Lunar Calendar that illustrates the moon phase for every day of the current year. The calendar can be projected forward to help you plan fishing trips on certain moon phases.
