Green Butt Buck Bug: In the 1970's the Buck Bug was introduced as the new hot salmon fly. It is a descendent of the Bomber and its creation credited to Father Elmer Smith. As with the Bomber, it fishes equally well wet as it does dry and probably serves more time below the water than not. An interesting note is that the hackle is tied in by the butt and wrapped forward. There are many variants with color and type of tail (or no tail) being the determining change.
