This is a version of the versatile work horse the Tellico nymph. This pattern was developed in the Tellico Lake region of the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee. It was designed as a general purpose imitator that does not match any specific aquatic insect. It can be used to imitate mayflies, caddisflies and stoneflies. This pattern is especially effective when things are slow and you need to try and coax stubborn trout into feeding. This is also a great Panfish pattern to fish in the early spring.
