Ballyhoo Fly: The true Ballyhoo, Hemiramphus brasiliensis: a species of halfbeak, is commonly used as a bait fish on the East Coast, and on the West Coast is mostly found in the Gulf of Mexico. In Pacific Mexican waters, other halfbeaks are commonly called "ballyhoo" when used as bait. Ballyhoo are excellent bait for almost any species making this pattern really productive. We especially like the long "beak" tied into the shank of the hook in this particular pattern. This one is a keeper.
