David Sloan , a noted guide on the Pit River in Northern California developed this pattern to specifically create an ultra realistic mayfly nymph imitation. He wanted to create a life-like notched wing case that was often so noticeable on the nymphs he had observed. His idea was to create the notched wing case with a turkey feather section that is then epoxy coated. The result is a very effective and natural looking bead head nymph that can be tied insect specific. All patterns come with a black colored bead head.
