Wulff: Created by Lee Wulff in the 1930's based on his belief that trout wanted something meatier to eat than the sparse hackle dressings of the day. This is not just a patter but rather a subcategory of flies that define the Hairwing dry fly as it should be. The original Wulffs as tied by Lee had an upright profile to the wings and used bucktail in both the tail and wings. These flies fish well anywhere in the world where trout waters flow. The pattern is offered in color schemes of Royal, Royal Lime, Adams, Ausable, and White. All color schemes are considered attractor patterns with the exception of White which is almost an exact imitation of the White Fly; Ephoron leukon.
