Alder Fly

The often mistaken mistery bug of the stream is a real productive pattern when naturals are present

Alderflies belong to the Order Megaloptera (Hellgrammites, Dobsonflies, and Alderflies) and are of the Family Sialidae (Alderflies)  Genus Sialis.  As larva they are often mistaken for small Hellgramites and as adults for large Caddisflies or even Stoneflies. This is an execellent imitation of the natural that fishes real high and dry.  We have found it to be a very productive pattern for late day-early evening Summertime fishing.

We are currently updating our inventory and not accepting new orders. Please check back at a later date.
