The Skwala hatch is normally the first big bug hatch of the year starting as early as February and running on into April. The Skwala nymph becomes active at around 38-40 degrees and hatching will usually begin when the water approaches the 42-47 degree mark. Hatches normally take place in the late afternoon and into the evening in stretches of fast and well oxygenated water.  This is a good looking imitation that floats well in the fast water that the natural inhabits.  We often Fish the nymph in the morning and the adult in the afternoon.
