Serendipity: Ross Merigold introduced this pattern to Craig Mathews of Blue Ribbon Flies in 1988. It is intended to be a general purpose imitation of a caddis/midge larvae and pupa. Originally designed to fish in the surface film this pattern works equally well when fished deep as a dropper.
