Ralph Cutter designed this Emerger Cripple Caddis imitation to fish the well known caddis hatches on the Truckee river in Northern California.  The parachute hackle allows the thorax and Z-lon trailing schuck to ride deep in the surface film just as an emerging caddis caught in the grips of the menicus layer would experience. The body is made of two colors to further imitate a half emerged caddis and its pupal schuck.  The Z-lon traps tiny air bubbles that shimmer in the water to further the illusion of the pupal schuck.  All in all a very well thought out pattern worthy of any anglers flly box.
