Mr. Yoshikazu Fujioka is the author of one of the Japanese bibles on Tenkara flies titled; My Best Mountain Streams. The book catalogs many Tenkara fly patterns by region and exhibits photographs from Mr. Fujioka’s extensive fly collection. It is only fitting that the Fujioka Kebari his favorite pattern be named after him the. The Fujioka Kebari, a soft hackle wet fly’ is slightly more complex tie than most Tenkara patterns but none the less represents a true Japanese style fly. This pattern is made to be fished wet however is can make a fine generic caddis imitation when dressed with a floatant and fished dry or as an emerger. All color variations are available tied on high quality Gamakatsu R10-BN hooks in sizes 12-14-16. In the case of this pattern variation it is all about the hook, the R10-BN has a radical retainer bend that really holds fish well even though it is barbless. We think this is the best fish holding barbless hook in the business with a point that gives a new meaning to the word sharp.
