Egg Sucking String Leech: The original egg sucking leech pattern was first created in Alaska for fishing large rainbows and has since become a staple for big trout, steelhead and salmon the world wide. Tribal wisdom has it that it was designed to imitate a stonefly attached to a salmon egg while eating it. Whatever it is it works and works well. Fish it in a dead drift or traditional wet fly swing. Colors vary with black and purple being the most popular.
