March Brown Nymph: This pattern imitates the following Mayflies; Stenonema vicarium; Heptagenia pulla and Ephemera simulans. This is an important Genus in the East and Midwest that produces hatches from mid-May until mid-June with stragglers present until mid-July. Nymphs live in slow to moderate fast flowing stretches of water. Two days prior to hatching the nymphs crawl on the bottom to find slower moving currents. Bounce this nymph off the bottom for best results.
